Our Brightest Solar Light — No Electrician, No Cable, No Bill
About as much light as a 100 W bulb, with nothing connected to the mains. This is the model for car parks, farm yards, industrial entrances and remote buildings — the places where running power would mean a trench and a bill in the hundreds.
How Bright Is It, Really?
| Model | About as bright as | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 60W | a 40 W bulb | Front door, path, balcony |
| 100W | a 60 W bulb | Single driveway |
| 150W | a 75 W bulb | Double driveway, garden |
| 200W | a 75–100 W bulb | Large yard |
| 300W (this one) | a 100 W bulb | Car park, farm, business premises |
All of that light is aimed forward and down, so on the ground it looks stronger than a bare bulb of the same output.
The Real Saving Is the Installation
Getting mains power out to a car park or a far building means an electrician, a trench and armoured cable — easily several hundred euros, and far more over any distance. This unit needs none of it, and it costs nothing to run.
Why It Costs More Than a €20 Supermarket Light
Cheap solar lights use standard lithium batteries good for roughly 300–500 charges — a season or two of daily use. This one uses a 36,000mAh LiFePO4 battery, the chemistry used in home battery storage: it typically lasts several times as many charge cycles.
| Cheap solar light | This light | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | ~€20 | €134.90 |
| Battery | Standard lithium | LiFePO4, 36,000mAh |
| Typical life | A season or two | Years |
| Warranty | Often none | 24 months |
Installation: Two Screws
Screw the light up, screw the 40 W panel where it gets sun, connect the cable. No electrician, no permit, no wiring. Mount it 2.5 to 4 metres high for the best spread.
Questions People Ask
Will one unit light a whole car park?
Not on its own. Plan on roughly 60–80 m² of useful light per unit and place several around the perimeter for even coverage.
How does it compare to a wired floodlight?
A mains floodlight can be brighter, but it needs power, a cable and an electrician. This gives you solid, dependable light anywhere the sun reaches, with no installation cost and no running cost.
Does it work in winter and in the rain?
Rain and snow are no problem: it is IP65. Daylight is the limit. In December Estonia gets about six hours of mostly overcast daylight and an 18-hour night, so no solar light runs from dusk to dawn in those weeks. From November to January, set the remote timer to a few evening hours at reduced brightness, tilt the panel steeply towards the south and brush snow off it. Lithium batteries also charge poorly below freezing. From spring to autumn a sunny day charges it fully.
What if we get a week of rain?
It still charges in daylight, just more slowly. Lower the brightness or set a 4–6 hour timer with the remote and it will carry through a dull stretch.
How long will it last?
The battery ages first. LiFePO4 cells typically last several times as many charge cycles as standard lithium, so expect years of nightly use rather than a season. 24 months of warranty from us.
